realised that if i didnt get down to writing this post, i would NEVER get it out. haha. crazee amount of stuff to research on, write hypotheses etc..
hmm okayys. . .
we had this briefing in the CPA like while the year1s were having REW. supposed to ensure that we had an EVEN better understanding of wad was gonna happen later in the day, but if you ask me, they were just looking of an excuse to keep us occupied until the year1s were released..
then we finally entered the audi. at...
*sorri for the interruption. bro just gave me an ice cream.. gimme 3 mins..*
*yumyum.. ok..*
0900 or so, to have the key-note address by kishore mahbubani.. (HAH. i spelt his name right. take that! haha. ok. so anyways...) was realli interesting la his speech. it wasnt those drony kinds of ppl who dun have much substance in the first place and are basically there to bore us to DEATH, but those given by an INTELLECTUAL person, who offered insightful and thought-provoking information. hmm. yeah. it must have been realli great if it came from me. im normally darn critical of speeches. haha. there was Q&A after that, which made it even more enriching, until some bugger sec1 asked a whole lot of stoopid questions, like "what do you think about this phrase: 'RI alma maters rule singapore, but ACS boys own singapore?'" i onli have one thing to say. omgwtf gg no re?! crazee la. he just had to spoil the whole thing... sigh.
the problem was the colloquium later on. its like, ahhhh.. tay kheng soon, k chatterjea, and some sociologist was there. haha. it gets kinda hard to stay awake during such things. exchange of ideas, exchange of ideas. it kind of reaches a stage when EVERYONE gets irritated by the same thing being repeated over and over. the first part was interesting. thats about it. haha. the Q&As lost their appeal. haha. lets just say they were each knowledgeable in their own fields, but lets just say you cant tell an architecture professor "give me a BRIEF idea about archi.".. you're asking for trouble. hahahah.
ok la. enuf rattling about the symposium. it was a whole day of talks, wad did u expect? haha. i left around 1300 to have a 75 mins lunch break!!! haha. then we left to science centre for a toptopsecret meeting with the IOC ppl!! hahhaa. im not jokin! haha. i realli was one of the few chosen to represent ACSi for the meeting with the IOC chaps like Beckham and the Blairs!!
haha. we stood around for a great deal of time, being briefed about the severity of this matter, explaining why our handphones needed to be confiscated until it was over- you know, the works. after a longlong while, the fellas came. onli Beckham and Tony/Cherie Blair la. but good enuf. haha.
but they were being shuttled around the exhibits so fast, the mob of photographers just mobbed them la. and we onli managed to shake their hands, talk to them briefly etc. NO PHOTOS/AUTOGRAPHS were allowed la. sadsadsad. but the british high commission's official photographers are supposed to give us copies of wadeva they took la. cos THEY invited us there. haha. hope they keep their word.
but nvm!! I GOT TO SHAKE THOSE 3 PEEPZ' HANDS!!! tralalalala! lakshman couldnt believe his ears when i told him beckham was dere lor.. hahahahaaaaa.
sian la. still so much work to do. got to hammer out a hypothesis for my geog field study, and do research on URA's warped/ingenious town planning for tomorrow's symposium. we're moving around spore to critique new towns to write a report and presentation by friday la. hahahah. this is madness la. 2 days to collect info and produce a presentation/report? haha. like i said b4, im living in madness. haha. but i'll survive. just watch me!!! +)
